A Tribute to the Past. A Legacy for the Future. Building the Endowment Fund

The Japanese American National Museum is engaged in an endowment building effort to ensure that it can and will continue to preserve and share the Japanese American experience with current and future generations. The endowment will provide funds for the National Museum to preserve the Nisei legacy and support exhibitions, public programs, artifact and oral history collection and conservation, research and ongoing education programs.

All contributions to the Endowment Fund qualify a donor for membership in the Legacy Society of the Japanese American National Museum, with all the benefits associated therein.

Some of the methods by which contributions can be made include:

* Cash – May be made by cash, check or credit card.

* Pledges – May be made over a multi-year period in quarterly, semi-annual or annual payments to enable a donor to consider a larger gift to the Museum’s endowment.

* Charitable Trust Gifts – For donors who would like to make a gift and in return have lifetime income from assets with capital gains and income tax savings as well.

* Gifts of Appreciated Property – Are welcomed and accepted by the Museum.

* Securities – Gifts of appreciated securities or stock can have substantial tax benefits.

* Real Estate – Gifts of appreciated marketable real estate can qualify for charitable income tax deduction.

* Life Insurance or Retirement Funds

* Estate Gifts – Bequests in a will or trust provide flexibility while allowing a donor to leave a lasting legacy.
